This is South Africa! A country with incredible diversity. Through its vibrant cultures and ever changing landscape, and for the 2023 Adventure Racing World Championship, the Kouga region of the Eastern Cape gave refuge to the teams of adventurers that took on the monumental task of completing over 800km of the province by foot, bike, kayak, abseil, and with map-and-compass navigation.
his was made possible with the help of the local Sarah Baartman and Kouga municipalities together with the region's farming community that opened their homes to our adventurers, and gave them shelter and food when they needed it most.
The energy of its beautiful vast landscape was felt by the teams that traversed through it.
