Petzl and Expedition Oregon Make Adventure Race History!

The 2019 Expedition Oregon partnered with Petzl to create a technical ropes section unlike anything in the sport's 40 year history. With the help of a top notch team of riggers and rescue volunteers on hand, racers climbed a 3 pitch route (leading on their own rope) to the top of the iconic Opossum Spire at Smith Rock. Teams were watched closely by members of the safety team (but not assisted), as they scaled a 500ft technical rock climb on their own. Several teams did the entire route in the middle of the night!
