After taking a 4 year hiatus, the eighth edition of the Rocky Gap Adventure Race is back and it’s going to be AWESOME!
This 6 hour competition is perfect for the sport level racer, achievable for the beginner, and challenging for the advanced level racer. Solos and teams of 2 or 3 will navigate to find checkpoints, all while mountain biking, trekking, and paddling.
With this race, we strive to challenge, surprise, and thrill. So, we’re not going to divulge too much information. Racers should expect a new and unique race format, many new checkpoints (for those veteran RGAR racers), plenty of mountain biking, trekking, paddling (canoe for teams/kayak for solos), navigation, and TONS of strategic decision making, all of which will cost or save your team time. We are excited to be bringing this race back and we hope you decide to join us.
Rocky Gap has tons to do and is just a 2.5 hour drive from the Washington and Baltimore metro areas. With camping, a Jack Nicklaus golf course, awesome beaches, plenty of trails, and fishing – your whole family will love it! Or you can make it a romantic getaway – there is a fancy lodge/casino on site and plenty of bed and breakfasts located right in Cumberland.
