Serpent Trail Races
Length/Duration: 100 km
Location: South Downs National Park
The 100k race is the full length of the Serpent Trail and has been designed to allow participants to be as fast and light as possible (see kit list HERE). Starting on a Surrey high street, within a mile the trail enters woodland, ascends to the highest point in the South Downs National Park and snakes through glades, copses, fields and heathland as it rises and falls through the Wealden Greensand Hills.
The 50k race starts from near Petworth, the mid-point of the Serpent Trail and along with the Half Marathon and 10k races is along the southern section of the trail to Petersfield. The second half of the Serpent Trail has smaller hills and lower level sandy trails and paths with sections of road linking them up, so are suitable and inclusive for walkers as well as runners.
