Red River Gorge American Classic - The Fig III

Location: Red River Gorge Geological Area
12-hour race through the internationally-renowned Red River Gorge Geological Area and surrounding Daniel Boone National Forest. 1/2/3/4 person teams will trek, paddle (up to Class II whitewater on the wild and scenic Red River), bike, rappel, ascend, and navigate. Familiarly known as \"the Fig,\" this is a tough race with technical navigation and challenging rope work, but course options that allow even novice racers to compete. First class pre-race dinner and awesome post-race party with tons of gear giveaways. Sponsors for 2005 include Merrell, New Balance of Lexington, Red Bull, Suunto, Kentucky Ale, Cave Run Bicycle & Outdoor Center, Trango, Stonewear Designs, and others. 85 racers pre-registered.
