Overview
The Marathon of Ontario Summer Edition (MOOSE) will be the longest six day footrace in the world and the only multi-day footrace in Canada. The six-day, 302km course will follow the Bruce Trail on the Bruce Peninsular from Tobermory to Blue Mountain Resort near Collingwood. It is the Ultimate Running Adventure.
Friday 15th to Friday 22nd August 2008
All competitor will meet at a Toronto hotel (included) on Friday 15th August. Saturday 16th is travel and Event Registration day. The race starts on Sunday 17th August and finishes on Friday 22nd August. The Gala Dinner will be held at Blue Mountain Resort on the evening of the finish. It is also planned to offer tours prior to and post the event for competitors and their families.
Course
95% of the event course is run on the stunning and challenging Bruce Trail. Each stage ends at a purpose built Race Village, where competitors are provided with a meal and tented accommodation. The event is divided up into six stages as follows, with a total course distance of 302KM.
Stage One: Tobermory to Dyers Bay - 50KM
Stage Two: Dyers Bay to Hope Bay - 60KM
Stage Three: Hope Bay to Wiarton - 38KM
Stage Four: Wiarton to Owen Sound - 71KM
Stage Five: Owen Sound to Heathcote - 62KM
Stage Six: Heathcote to Blue Mountain Resort - 21KM
Competitors
All competitors will have to carry mandatory equipment, making them self-sufficient for the duration of the event. The event will be limited to a maximum of 40 competitors. For 2008 we are attracting runners from Canada, US and the UK.
Categories
As well as the solo category, we have also introduced a team/pairs category for this years event. The two runners will run as a relay for four stages and run together for two stages (3 and 6). This gives people the chance to try a multi-day ultra without having to go the full distance.

Crew
An exceptional event needs exceptional crew, and this event will be no different. We are currently putting together our core team who will take responsibility for different areas of the event.
