Looking for a new challenge in Central Oregon? Something that will test your physical and mental limits, but will still be fun and adventurous? Check out Bend, Oregon\'s newest unique racing option!
The Flaming Chicken Adventure Race (flamingchickenar.com) will be held on Saturday, August 23 starting at Seventh Mountain Resort in Bend, Oregon. This race will take you over 20-40 miles of single track mountain biking trails and fire roads, and another 10-15 miles of running/trekking on foot, as you find challenging checkpoints that have been scattered all over the terrain. Teams will have the option to race for 6 or 12 hours, rogaine style, strategically choosing which checkpoints to find or abandon to complete the race within the time provided. There are 2,3 & 4 person teams, both single gender and coed.
Are you new to Adventure Racing, or would you like a refresher course on how it’s done? Come learn adventure racing basics and gather words of wisdom from world class adventure racer and fitness & nutrition expert, Cathy Sassin! Her workshop, Adventure Racing 101, will be held the day before the race at Seventh Mountain Resort in Bend, Oregon for registered racers.
