The countdown to the exciting CONTEGO WINES2WHALES MTB RACE has begun. Due to the overwhelming response to the 2010 Race, event organisers decided to divide the event into two, differentiating between the Contego W2W MTB Adventure (Friday, 04 November 2011 until Sunday, 06 November 2011) and the Contego W2W MTB Race (Friday, 11 November 2011 until Sunday, 13 November 2011).

Starting at the beautiful Lourensford Wine Estate (Somerset West) on the Friday and ending at the Onrus Caravan Park (near Hermanus) on the Sunday, participants can look forward to an awesome mountain biking experience rivaled by no other. Teams of two cyclists (men/female/mixed) will be seen traversing approximately 230 km of the Western Cape’s most beautiful and un-spoilt terrain. Riders can expect to see breath-taking scenery while experiencing spectacular mountain-biking terrain.

EVENT INFORMATION:

Riders will cross through (and over) 13 wineries, 26 private farms, six mountains, historic roads and mountain passes, nature conservation areas (including the Kogelberg Biosphere) before finishinge within sight of the famous whales of Hermanus!
