Nepal\'s Himalayan mountain region brings you a stunning 3 day ultra trail running and hiking event this Fall.
NEPAL 2012 - Registration starts Jan 15 - EARLY BIRD RATE IN EFFECT UNTIL FEB 29
Thurs Nov 1 - Participants arrive KTM - Hotel included
Fri Nov 2 - Participants drive KTM to destination - Bus/Guest House Accomodation included
Sat Nov 3 - Day 1 race (Accomodation Guest house included)
Sun Nov 4 - Day 2 race (Guest house included)
Mon Nov 5 - Day 3 race, then drive back to KTM, Dinner buffet, Awards ceremony and Hotel included
Based on last years event filling up we will increase quota to 120 people for 2012 race.

Bus leaves Kathmandu EARLY Friday Nov 2nd (long drive) so you must arrive latest Thursday night Thursday Nov 1st. Entry fee includes accommodation Thurs Nov 1st.
Food at race venue: Food at guest house can be purchased (Western menu) or can bring your own freeze dried packets as we will arrange hot water at accommodation locations each night.

Ultra marathon category:
Day 1 - 40 km (1100m – 500m - 1200m - 1100m)
Day 2 - 41 km (1200m – 550m – 1300m – 450m - 1100m)
Day 3 - 19 km (1100m – 600m – 1200m - 1100m)
Explorer (good for hiking)
Day 1 - 21 km (1100m - 700m - 1200m - 1100m)
Day 2 - 22 km ((1200m – 550m – 1200m - 1100m)
Day 3 - 17 km (1100m – 600m – 1100m)
in the beautiful and stunning part of Central Nepal with views of Manasalu and Ganesh Himal and a touch of the Annapurna range. Note course will not be disclosed and distances each day subject to small changes but close to this estimate. Note for the 2011 course little was changed in terms of distances with very good positive feedback on the course.
Which distance too choose (Ultra marathon or Explorer HIKING OPTIONS:
When you register if you are unsure recommend choosing shorter option and see how your training goes. We will allow you too change categories before the actual race, but if you do change categories on actual race weekend you will not qualify for category standings. Having fun is the main objective even though we do know many of you take these ultras seriously.

Race Director & Course Designer:
Michael Maddess an active trail runner, originally from Vancouver, Canada who was Race Director of the World Police Fire Games Triathlon in Canada before moving to Asia, has worked on 18 Action Asia Challenges across Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, 3 Vietnam adventure races and 3 day stage ultra marathon races in Nepal, Yunnan China, Vietnam, Laos, 2 Nepal Himalayan Mtn Bike races, 25 Action SPRINT HK adventure races, 8 Action Asia Off Road HK bike races, worked/competed in numerous other road races/triathlons including completing 3 Ironman triathlons (10hrs 52min), 2nd runner-up in 100km trailwalker 4x in 13 hrs 25 min, 12hrs 44min, 12hrs 39min, 12hrs 50min, 3rd in HK100 in 12hrs 30min, winner of Sabah 3 day adv race 3x and 8th overall Gobi 250km race. He\'s also coached dragonboat, soccer and baseball teams, climbed to 15,000+ft Annapurna Basecamp and jumps off bridges in Nepal for fun. If he\'s not outside designing a course, he\'s not having fun.
