Length: 220 miles
Location: Different locations in Tasmania each year
The Swisse Mark Webber Tasmania Challenge is a premium, five day, multi-discipline event taking in over 350km of terrain across some of Tasmania’s most stunning scenic locations, competitors will mountain bike, kayak and trek different, equally challenging courses daily.
As an adventure race - along the way, competitors will be challenged to other activities designed to push them outside their comfort zone. This year, the Challenge starts in Launceston on November 28, the event will move to the north/north east regions of Tasmania- visiting iconic locations such as The Bay of Fires, Binalong Bay, Barnbougle and Bicheno; before finishing in Hobart on December 2.
Competitors will stay During the event competitors will be accommodated at the states most iconic hotels, as well as ‘rough it’ at our 5 star campsite. The event including not only a chef, but full support crew as well as medics, safety officers, team hosts, massage therapists, drivers and equipment mechanics.
Mark loves the experience the Challenge provides to all competitors, from the elite to the beginner. “I love seeing people being rewarded for putting in the hard yards. The Challenge isn’t all about elite athletes; we’ve had people turn up to compete who have never done anything like it before and they’ve amazed themselves by getting through the whole event – for many of them it’s been a life-changing experience and it’s great to see them having a go.
The Challenge raises funds for the Mark Webber Foundation which supports Australian Charities. 100% of the money raised from each Challenge reaches much needed charities, in the past they have included The Leukemia Foundation, Save the Tasmanian Devils Foundation and The Whitelion Foundation.
