The long-awaited announcement!

17.12.2007
The long-awaited announcement has finally been made: Primal Quest 2008 will take place in “Big Sky Country” – the state of Montana. PQ’s CEO Don Mann says that his management and operations teams are excited about the venue, and he offers these details:

\"Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, and Arizona were also in contention to host Primal Quest in 2008. While any of these states could have produced spectacular races, our Montana course, in my opinion, is second to none. I can promise that you will love this course and will never forget it!

\"Because this year’s race is a supported event, it made sense that we should create a more challenging course than we did with Primal Quest Utah. While the Utah course was demanding with its very hot temperatures (112 -116 degrees at times) and a desert that had a way of draining all energy reserves from the competitors, the Montana course will present new demands on your bodies. Teams will face less harsh weather, but unrelenting climbs on both foot and bike.

\"In Primal Quest Montana you can expect to climb over 100,000 feet (Everest x 3), you will paddle and swim in big white water and you will perform world-class mountain navigation. The pain and the suffering you will encounter will be made even more rewarding by the never-ending 360 degree vistas of absolutely beautiful, rugged and remote terrain.

\"The few people you may encounter while racing in this remote region of the Rockies will be good, down-to-earth, friendly Montana folks who will most likely cheer you on and applaud your efforts through your arduous journey. Your support crews will be a very big part of your team and you will have a number of opportunities throughout the course to spend time with them. They should anticipate comforting and treating some very tired, hungry, and exhausted teammates at the assisted check points/transition areas.\"

The fifth edition of Primal Quest takes place June 21 - July 2, 2008.
