Course for the 2014 Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma confirmed - Registration opens Dec 10th

Just a few days before the official registration for the 17th edition of the Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma kicks off (Dec 10), Race Organisers have announced the course for next summer. From July 20 thru 26, 2014, the route will exclusively go past well-known stage towns whilst also providing a varying and extremely exciting design due to the arrangement of the stage towns and partly brand new legs.
“Our goal is to host the most fascinating race, not the hardest. That's for sure,” explains Marc Schneider, Race Director of the Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma. Like two years ago, the seven-day mountain bike stage race for teams of two starts in Oberammergau, Germany. Passing Imst and Nauders in Austria, the field will pedal to South Tyrol. Via Naturns, Sarnthein and Kaltern the route leads deeper into Italy where the mountain bikers stop over in Trento before finally arriving at Riva del Garda, right at the shore of Lake Garda. Participants can look forward to race highlights worth riding featuring the Via Claudia to Naturns, trail fireworks into the Vinschgau area as well as some downhill blast in the Sarn Valley before exploring some hidden trails to Trento. And also the final leg to Riva del Garda is brand new.

Registration
The registration for the 2014 Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma will kick off Tuesday, December 10 at 12 PM (CET) on online-registration.de.
About the Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma
The Craft Bike Transalp powered by Sigma is the most famous stage race for mountain bike teams of two. From its first edition in 1998 until 2013, the routing led in eight stages from Germany across the main chain of the Alps to Italy. In 2014, the event will feature seven stages taking place from July 20 thru 26. It kicks off in Oberammergau from where the field pedals via Imst, Nauders, Naturns, Sarnthein, Kaltern and Trento to Riva del Garda. A maximum of 600 teams of two will cover a total distance of 581.97 kilometres peppered with 19,227 metres in elevation gain.
