The latest in the Channel 5 T.V. ‘Go Hard or Go Home’ will follow 4 car dealers from the U.K as they tackle Gael Force West, Ireland’s toughest multisport race.

The film will be shown on channel 5 in the UK next Monday (Feb. 3rd) at 19.00, and is part of a series which challenges ordinary members of the public participate in some of the world’s most extreme endurance races, in amazing locations, with only 12 weeks to prepare. Groups including doctors, members of the Women’s Institute and pub landlords are involved, but they will have to make a serious commitment and huge changes to their lives even to be allowed to take part.

Their trainer and the person behind this hugely ambitious idea is Hannah White, who knows all about endurance challenges, having sailed the Atlantic three times solo. She is also a competitive long-distance cyclist, mountain biker and runner.

which has challenged untrained and unfit groups of professionals to take on extreme challenges under the coaching of

The event that the car dealers are aiming to compete in is Gael Force West, a multi-sport race based in the wild, unforgiving terrain of the west coast of Ireland. It includes a 41-mile cycle ride, a 13-mile combination of running and hiking, and a kayaking nightmare across Ireland’s only fjord. To top it all, there is a daunting climb up one of Ireland’s tallest mountains – the 2,500 foot high Craogh Patrick!

Having sailed the Atlantic solo three times, Hannah knows all about endurance challenges, but preparing her latest recruits for Gaelforce West could be her biggest challenge yet. Car dealers may be renowned for their gift of the gab, but not for their health and fitness.

Andy from Weston-Super-Mare is true to type. He can talk the talk, but when it comes to turning up for training the 48-year-old used car salesman is somewhat elusive. Jason from Bristol works hard and plays harder, but the 44-year-old used van dealer is ready to make the sacrifice needed to reach the finish line.

Sports car salesman Glen is the youngest of the group. He aims to get in shape for his wedding, but a fractured toe threatens his whole race. Completing the group is Kerry, a petite 34-year-old luxury car dealer from Swindon. Used to working in a man’s world, she is probably more competitive than any of them. She is certainly determined not to be left behind by anyone!

As the date for the race gets nearer, Hannah suspects that the car dealers are struggling to balance their busy working days with preparing for the race and are beginning to shirk their training. In an effort to encourage a final push, she takes them to Dartmoor for some tough fell running. However, a day before the start of the race, Hannah is not sure if all four will start the race, let alone if any of them will reach the finishing line …
