The world’s biggest adventure race is now also the richest adventure race in Australia and New Zealand with a massive increase in prize money announced today for the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race in November 2014.

If local and international athletes needed any greater encouragement to participate in the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race then a massive $21,000 cash prize pool will be it with today’s announcement expected to bring even more elite athletes to this impressive event.

With 3,400 competitors across three events, the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest is the world’s largest adventure race. The event takes place amidst the wild landscapes of South West, Western Australia, and consists of four off-road disciplines: trail running, ocean swimming, ocean paddling and mountain biking.

The event has sold out to Western Australian competitors however a limited number of entries have been reserved for interstate and international competitors, to provide them with the opportunity of experiencing this incredible event and Western Australia’s stunning Margaret River region, and get their hands on the cash.

The total prize pool for the main event, the Adventure Race, has been increased to provide extra incentive for interstate and international competitors to travel to the event.

The overall winner of the Augusta Adventure Race, the premier event at the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest, will take home a whopping $5,000 in prize money. Second place will receive $2,500, third $1,000, fourth $750 and fifth $500 for both males and females.

In addition to this, those competing in the Tri Nations Trophy are also vying for the AUD$1,000 ‘bonus’ to be split between the winning team members.

Nominations are now invited for selection on the Australia team in the Tri Nations Trophy.

The Tri Nations Trophy is a competition between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and is held as part of the main Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race. Each nation has three designated competitors (2 male and 1 female), all of whom compete as individuals, and the nation with the lowest cumulative team time is the winner!

Event organisers are now welcoming nominations for Australian athletes to join the Aussie team. Competitive athletes are encouraged complete the nomination form on the event website and submit by 30th July. A shortlist of potential team members will be selected and put to Australia to vote. It will be Australia who determines the Australian team.
