Radio Personality Ready For An Action Packed February
Press Release / 11.12.2017
Known as one of the voices in sport on Heart 104.9 FM (aka Cape Town's Beat), Jeremy Harris will be chasing two very specific goals in February when he takes on the Sanlam Cape Mile brought to you by Sanlam Investments on Sunday, 18 February 2018 and the Fedhealth XTERRA Lite Grabouw on Sunday, 25 February 2018.
“I’ve taken part in both events twice already,” admits Harris. “This year was the first time that I completed more than one wave at the Sanlam Cape Mile. I was hoping to take part in three waves, but after a difficult first wave I decided to only swim twice. In 2018 I will definitely complete three waves, while in 2019 I will go for five waves. I’m very lucky to be a Speedo ambassador. The brand’s extensive range of training aids makes training and racing easy.”
Celebrating its 4th anniversary in 2018, the Sanlam Cape Mile is affectionately known as the perfect “warm up swim” for the World’s largest XTERRA, the Fedhealth XTERRA South African Championship.
“The Sanlam Cape Mile is perfect for athletes that are preparing for the Fedhealth XTERRA in Grabouw,” assures Harris. “Swimming is a great total body workout. While I obviously need to work on my mountain biking and running, swimming makes my body strong and prepares me for the Fedhealth XTERRA Lite. I enjoy XTERRA because it’s a massive physical challenge.”
“I recently took part in an event where I was partnered with XTERRA legend, Conrad Stoltz. Although I was a little worried in the beginning, Conrad was amazing. He made sure that I was ok and got me to the finish safely. He is definitely my XTERRA hero. When it comes to female XTERRA heroes, Flora Duffy wins hands down.”
GOOD NEWS: With the weekend lineup being as it is XTERRA Lite entrants can watch their XTERRA heroes in action at the Fedhealth XTERRA Full on the Saturday.
