Dream Team to Organise ARWC 2019
Press Release / 05.07.2018
The 2019 AR World Championship will be organised by a team made up of the best race organisers, athletes and media from around the world.
While the location has still to be announced, AR World Series Director Craig Bycroft said “We will be taking the championship to an entirely new country next year, one that hasn’t seen adventure racing before, and we will need a Dream Team to plan it. The race will be an exotic journey of exploration - a real adventure for everyone.”
The 2019 championship has been confirmed for the month of November and exact dates will be release later in the year.
Craig Bycroft said “Some of race directors of the current Qualifier events will have key roles in the event planning that best suit their personal strengths. They will be able to bring their years of experience to the benefit the World Series athletes as they take on the biggest race of the year. The team will also include experienced athletes and other media and marketing people.
The Dream Team will be invited to an extended planning trip towards the end of the year to develop the course and plan all the major aspects of the championship. Many of the roles will involve ongoing planning right through next year and including running the race in November 2019.
The AR community can look forward to the official announcement of the host country later this year.
