The global triathlon community has its eyes on Lac-Mégantic as the Canada Man/Woman, part of the prestigious XTRI World Tour, will return on October 6, 2024. This anticipated event organized by the Endurance Aventure team promises a competition that will promote collaboration between athletes, their assistants and their peers in a spirit of solidarity and mutual aid.

It is more of a personal challenge for each participant than a traditional competition. Although the race leader experiences fierce competition, the essence of the adventure lies not in this rivalry, but rather in memorable moments highlighting courage and perseverance.

Two distinctive components

This year, the triathlon will offer an unparalleled experience with two distinctive components: the Canada Man/Woman XTRI World Tour (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, 42 km run) and the XTRI SOLO POINT FIVE CANADA (2 km swim, 90 km bike, 20 km run).

Since registration opened, more than 100 athletes from six countries, 13 states and four provinces have registered. Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and the United States, triathletes from all over the planet have the ultimate goal of travelling to the Mégantic region to succeed in the Canada Man/Woman XTRI World Tour and the XTRI SOLO POINT FIVE CANADA.

Highlighting an Ambassador from the host region

By highlighting local talent, we are proud to present a young ambassador from the region, Philippe Gagné. As a passionate representative of the discipline, he embodies intensity and determination. Gagné is not only a competitor to follow closely, but he is also a role model for young aspiring triathletes in the region.

“Before becoming an athlete, I was very attracted to video games. It was my brother who influenced me. If I can motivate other 20-year-olds to train, it will be a success. I encourage everyone to do it! It's a source of pride to welcome international triathletes to my hometown. The lake is ideal for swimming and the climb of Mont-Mégantic is very impressive for someone who is discovering the region."

Aged 20 years old, Gagné won the Magog Marathon in October 2023, only a few months after his victory in the Canada Man/Woman Sprint event. This year, he has set himself the challenge of doing the full distance of the Canda Man/Woman XTRI World Tour.

In seventh edition, the triathlon will once again be held on a difficult course appreciated by all. The town of Lac-Mégantic offers a picturesque setting and invaluable support, contributing to the continued success of this world-renowned event.

Jean-Thomas Boily, Co-founder and Director of Operations, at Endurance Aventure: “It’s the dream destination to hold a competition of this scale. Finishing at the top of Mont-Mégantic offers lasting memories. We are blessed to benefit from so much support from representatives of the town of Lac-Mégantic."

A Television Production that delivers

The Endurance Aventure production team is currently working on the production of a complete program on the Canada Man/Woman XTRI World Tour 2023 which will be broadcast on RDS and internationally in more than 150 countries. Many athletes from Quebec and the host region will be in the spotlight.

How to participate: For more information and to register, please visit the event website. The spots are limited.
