World Rogaining Championship Bid from Australia
Press Release / 11.05.2024
The Australian Rogaining Association is this month lodging a bid to host the 2027 World Rogaining Championships in an outback region north of the city of Adelaide in the State of South Australia. The 24-hour event involving navigation on foot will coincide with a full moon in September.
Four previous world championships have been held in Australia dating back to the very first one in the State of Victoria in 1992. Later successful ones have been held in Western Australia 1996, New South Wales 2006 and the Northern Territory 2016.
Australian Rogaining Association President Paul Guard said “Australian rogainers are excited by the prospect of welcoming the world back Down Under for the 20th World Rogaining Championships.
The iconic Flinders Ranges offer a visually stunning backdrop for the event and the area provides a variety of technically challenging and enjoyable terrain for rogaining.”
