Runners to get high in bid to win trip to Everest Marathon
Press Release / 24.06.2025

Runners are set to get high this summer in a bid to win a free adventure trip to Nepal and entry to the world’s highest marathon.
The Everest Marathon – first staged in 2003 – is held annually under the shadow of Earth’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest.
Starting from Everest Base Camp at a height of 5364m, runners complete a high-altitude 26.2-mile course over rough trails.
Typically attracting runners from more than 20 nations, the marathon is always held on May 29, celebrating the day of the historic first ascent of Everest by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953.
Ahead of the 2026 marathon, innovative sports brand INOV8 and adventure travel experts KE Adventure have teamed up on an exclusive giveaway – offering one free place on a 19-day group guided trip from Kathmandu that includes race entry.
A winner of this prize will be selected from those who sign-up to INOV8’s new Natural High Everest Challenge.
The challenge runs for two weeks between June 23 and July 6, during which time people are encouraged to run or hike as much ascent as possible.
At the end, all ascent logged will be totalled and a number revealed to show how many times INOV8’s challenge community scaled the equivalent height of Mount Everest.
INOV8 Product & Marketing Director Michael Price said: “We've all felt the natural high that sport gives us – it’s such a positive, natural drug.
“Let’s come together as one global community and take on this uplifting challenge. Everest stands at 8848m. Can we climb its height every day for two weeks and amass over 100,000m? It's a big ask, let’s aim high.”
KE Adventure Head of Marketing Rachel Farr said: “We’re thrilled by this partnership. We’ve been taking people on adventures to Nepal and all over the world for 40 years and recently launched a selection of trail running holidays.
“We can’t wait to see the results of the Natural High Everest Challenge and for one lucky winner to run in the shadow Everest itself.”
