Adventure Racing Returns to Ontario's Algonquin Highlands with Wilderness Traverse

DORSET, Ont. - The Algonquin Highlands region will be the place for adventure racing September 25-27, with Wilderness Traverse returning once again to Lions Camp Dorset. The region is an ideal jumping-off point for adventure, and the event will challenge teams on an all-new Ontario trekking, paddling and mountain biking course. Teams will travel non-stop for up to 30 hours, navigating the unmarked route using only map and compass.

One of Canada's premier adventure race organizers since 2010, Contour Adventures founder and event director Bob Miller has built Wilderness Traverse into one of Ontario's most respected endurance challenges. The event is known for showcasing rugged Canadian Shield terrain, remote lakes and rivers, and strategic route choices that reward teamwork, navigation and perseverance. The Algonquin Highlands region is well suited to a backcountry race where reaching the finish line is a major accomplishment.
