Taking place at the Elgin-Grabouw Country Club the weekend of 23 – 25 February 2018, the Fedhealth XTERRA Grabouw route is best described as being heaven for outdoor enthusiasts.

“We look forward to welcoming both local and international XTERRA Warriors to the largest XTERRA in the world,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports.  “The Elgin-Grabouw Country Club will treat entrants to breathtaking views of the surrounding Hottentots Holland, Nuweberg and Groenland mountains, while the waterfront ambiance of the Eikenhof Dam boasts an overwhelming sense of tranquility and enchantment.  XTERRA Warriors can look forward to a well-balanced mountain bike and trail run route, with technical and fast open sections.  The route is guaranteed to be challenging, but rewarding.”

Please Note:  The water level in the Eikenhof Dam is lower than in previous years.  As a result the run from the water’s edge to the transition area will be +- 500m in length.

Fedhealth XTERRA Full / MTB course:

The mountain bike route starts with a 3km climb, taking riders up to the highest point on route.  Some sections on the climb are loose, resulting in difficult riding.  There are a few technical descents with very loose rocks.  After 8km the single track fun with start with 80% of the climbs done.  The infamous rock garden is definitely on the cards.  If your technical skill is not up to scratch, please be careful.

Fedhealth XTERRA Full / Trail Run course:

The first 2km of the trail run route is fast with little technical sections.  After the first water point the first bit of single track will take runners through the river.  This is always a winner on hot days.  The big climb is the next phase of the run.  This starts around the 4km mark and is followed by a fast 3km downhill.  The last few kilometers are more difficult as the terrain next to the dam consists of loose sand, logs, some single track and one last little uphill.
