Gathering On 'The Isle of Beauty'

The Corsica Raid Aventure started under the sun today at Campsite San Damiano in Biguglia, south of Bastia. The organizers were ready to welcome the 36 teams landed this morning or for a few days already on the Isle of Beauty.
36 teams from different horizons, from Japan for the farthest, to islands such as Reunion, which will be represented by two women's teams, a Martinique team, a Dutch team whose captain Wilco Van Roojen has climbed Everest and K2 oxygen-free (only 200 people in the world have achieved this feat!). Seven Corsican teams will try to make the pride of their island and, as well as many French teams, composed as well of champions of the world of kayak as amateurs who go on the adventure of their lives and who train since long months to take up the challenge Corsica Raid adventure.
From 9 am this morning, the teams have recovered their pack team where they have finally discovered what they have been waiting for months, the details of the Corsica Raid Aventure 2019 courses!
It's full-eyed stars that they already imagine their exploits and exceptional moments that they will live together the next day on the Corsica.
But before we start we must first go through the technical checks of each safety equipment: harness, polar, stove, tent, helmets ... the list is long because the events are varied on the Corsica Raid and each event has its own specificities.
The organizing team is very picky, whether it is in terms of safety or respect for the environment, indeed, even the energy bars must be marked on behalf of the team. The teams sign the eco-adventurer charter which commits them to respect a whole set of specifications.
After a lunch break, the afternoon was devoted to the briefing that allowed each team to ask questions and the organizers to specify the key points of the rules and courses.
At the end of the day, an aperitif was offered to all teams and a very friendly first moment that allowed all competitors and organizers to exchange before the big departure the next day.
The start will be given tomorrow sunday at 9am at Saint Florent for an amazing first day that in the territory Conca Oru - Nebbiu through many sections of sea kayaking, coastering, sea swimming, trail running. ropes skills and mountain bikes. The finish will be at the end of the day in Patrimoniu ... a whole program.
