Three teams have withdrawn from the race. Adventure Guides were hit with injuries in leg 3 to Sabrina and Bill, with Andrew and Warren eventually - after much deliberation - deciding to continue unranked. They completed the next leg before decding to withdraw completely.
Team Linddales also mad the edifficult decision to withdraw after the orieneering leg, with all members being transported back to HQ.
Team FRED from the USA had team member Greg taken out after a mountain bike crash, and continued unranked until they struck more bad luck with captain Marc Bender becoming ill after drinking dodgy water from a puddle. This is a man who has made it his mission to introduce others to adventure racing and has completed over 50 adventure races, all of them with at least on person new to the sport.
Race organiser Louise Foulkes believes that all teams are still on track to complete the race within the allocated tiem of 10 days.
It looks at this stage that she will be spot on about the finishing time for the lead teams which had been predicted at around five and a half days. With AROC about to start the final leg she won\'t be far off.
