Andrew Graham of Starfactor is convinced this is one of the greatest expedition style races ever run. He has worked os a doctor on 5 Eco-challenge races including Borneo, Fiji, Morocco and says XPD is tougher and better than all of those races.
\"We\'re loving the terrain, although it is very tough and the 75km trek was very hard on everyone\'s feet - we\'ve all got bad feet now , very sore! . . . historical aspects of the race have been great - it was very exciting to see and paddle on the Darling river - the same river that was part of the Bourke and Wills expedition.\"
The two teams have been treating the race very much as an expedition, taking time out when they need it, \"stopping to light a fire and eat breakfast\". Andrew described one of his favourite moments when both teams stopped for a rest at an abandoned sheep station \"everyone sitting around eating, taking in the surrounds . . . very atmospheric\".
He has had his camera wtih him and is hanging out to get back a shot of the rest of the team shoo-ing away a bunch of sheep from a trough filled with slimy water so they could fill their water bottles!
