Exploring the Hidden Treasures of Albania With Globallimits

After 6 days of running adventure through remote Albanian mountains beautiful trails, breathtaking landscapes and dancing with local people in a street festival of Murci Village, GlobalLimits Albania -The Hidden Treasure runners finally reach the last stage of the race with a last 14,7 km run from the Village of Murci to the finishing line at the UNESCO World heritage site of Butrint.
The finish line is set at the 2000+ years old Theater of the complex. The runners must cross an Ionian channel by ferry and run through the magnificent ancient complex.
After running 219km together, Alfred Gaxhja from Albania paced up on the final kilometer to beat his 19 year old brother Gezim by just 19sec. Third overall is Ralph Crowley from the US.
Female winner is now 5 times GlobalLimits podium winner Christina Khinast with a comfortable lead of more than 3hrs to South African Belinda van der Riet who also celbrates her birthday today. 3rd is German Kirsten Domdey.
After touring around Butrint National Park, the runners arrive at the final hotel and have time to enjoy themselves by the pool and beach.
Have our runners found the Hidden Treasure in the breathtaking Albanian landscape, beautiful mountain trails, and dancing with villagers in the village of Murci? What about camping at the castle ruins of the “City of thousand windows” in Berat and sharing the homes of locals?
