Tough Racing and Amazing Places

The Czech Adventure Race 2022 is history. It was a tough one. Out of 22 teams only one met all time limits and won the race (EPO & HSK Benecko/Sport nás baví). There were 5 other teams that missed only one cut-off and were ranked above the others.
On the third day, most of the teams were trekking (if they arrived early enough) spiced with orienteering and then they rode the last bike stage, with a stop for a via ferrata and some single track, which most competitors enjoyed – except the Exit team, who got lost at night and pushed their bikes up the hard single track over boulders and obstacles.
The last discipline was a mini orienteering relay right in the finish area and after that teams could finally celebrate, get their champagne and listen to "We are the Champions“, which is the finish song for the Czech Adventure Race.
Sleeping tactics were different. For example, the team who placed 2nd, Masanga Racing (DNK) slept 2x 20 and 2x 5 minutes. On the other hand team Franta a jeho parta slept 5 hours during the 2nd night.
Czech Team SK SP Kylešovice placed 3rd, because they pushed very hard for the last few hours and beat the Polish Eventyr team, who placed 4th.
Teams appreciated the beautiful hilly terrain with an interesting route and CPs at amazing places – which they could read about in the Routebook on the way.
Next year the race will start on the 24th of August 2023, and we hope to see you there!
