Day 3 Begins With New Teams

The third day of the Wilderness ARC opened today with only nine teams still in the ranking and four teams restarting unranked.

The race restart was scheduled for 9:00am this morning and with twenty teams dropped or pulled out of the race, they would all continue on unranked from Transition Area 5, the beginning of the Kayaking Leg.

Only one full team began at the restart, Fun Over Talent. With the weather playing a considerable part in teams deciding to move on or not, seven partial teams created four new teams to continue on the course. Two teams are comprised of various members of the Markerz team, the Sleep Monsters team, the Sleek Munchers team, and one member of Mandatory Gear, Jay Prichard.

Jay sat in on the Kayak leg because the two teams had a total of seven people and needed one more to fill the last kayak. After the kayak leg, Jay returned to HQ to join up with his team, Mandatory Gear, which has decided to attempt the second restart scheduled for 9:00am tomorrow.

The other two teams are comprised of three members of Carpe Diem, three members of Alpine Bikes, and two members of High5 on Orange.

Everyone seemed in excellent spirits as they pulled up on shore at Transition Area 6 around 11:15am. Each new team arrived a few minutes ahead of the next. The overall attitude of the racers was they were happy to be racing again, even if unranked.

At around 12:00noon, as the first unranked teams left the Transition Area, Team MIZUNO, arrived in eighth place. Even though MIZUNO was at the back of the race pack, they continued to remain positive. While these teams left Transition Area 6 for the 63km trek, the last ranked team on the course, ISO Bicycle Works, was pulled off and transported to TA6 without doing the paddling leg so they could start the trek and continue the race ranked 9th.

The race continues on into the afternoon with eight ranked teams, ISO locked into ninth place if they don\'t pull out, Fun Over Talent running unranked, and four other unranked *All-Star* teams made up of Carpe Diem, High5 on Orange, Alpine Bikes, Markerz, Sleep Monsters, and Sleek Munchers.
