National Adventure Girl Challenge Kicks Off This Weekend

The National Adventure Girl Challenge will launch this weekend at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore, California. This sold-out event includes The Public Expo with Interactive Events. More than 50 teams of 3, comprised of mothers, daughters, friends and training partners and young as 13, will take part in the event, marking the first adventure event specifically for women in Northern California.

The Adventure Girl Series will consist of five events throught 2006 beginning with a sprint race on Sunday, November 6th. Saturday's interactive expo is open to the public and will include hands-on clinics, informational discussions, vendors, and a mini-challenge for mothers and daughters under 10 years-old.

'I'm thrilled with the response,' Maja Gray, CEO of Creating Adventure LLC, the company behind the Adventure Girl Challenge, said. 'We're nearly sold out so it really signifies the need for an event like this. Women can run with the men no problem, but it's important that they have their own challenges and environments that cater to their strengths and spirit.'
