AR World Championship 2005
Who Are ‘The Silly Rabbits’?
Rob Howard / 08.11.2005

As part of our coverage we’ll be following the fortunes of one team, to give a detailed ‘racer’s view’ of those highs and lows ... and how could we resist a team called ‘Silly Rabbits’? This U.S. team are in good spirits as they won the Adventure Xstream Expedition race in Moab just a few weeks ago, and they are keen to share their World Championship experience.
With the help of their dedicated support crew they’ll try to record their progress during the race, and when we catch with them, we’ll bring their reports to you. So, who are the Silly Rabbits …?
Jason Quinn, MD. Age: 31. Team Captain.
Occupation: ER Doctor.
As a newly anointed emergency medicine doctor, Jason is familiar with the sleep deprivation that often accompanies adventure racing. Jason manifests his passion for the outdoors by trading many of his off-duty sleep hours for the white waters of U.S. rivers and the single-track of the mountains. As a Class V paddler, a skilled mountain biker, and a sharp tactician, Jason is the ideal team captain. In a short time, Jason has established himself as one of the best navigators in the sport while amassing an ER worthy collection of scars.
Motto: Bushwhacking is fun.
John Moss. Age: 35.
Occupation: CEO, Balance Staffing.
A native of hot and humid Louisiana, John moved to California to start his own business and be closer to the mountains. A family man with two beautiful daughters, John began his racing career in local road races and triathlons.... often stomping the competition. John has only recently turned fully to adventure racing, but the same situation applies – this guy can fly. He has made a name for himself as one of the strongest and most consistent racers in the adventure racing world, as well as the owner of the best hair.
