Teva Adventure Series Championships
AROC Mountain Designs - AR Sprint Champions
Geocentric / 28.11.2005

Kicking off with ‘Drinks Anyone?’, competitors frantically scrambled to fill water buckets using tiny cups before shouldering their kayaks and dashing to the water’s edge for the first of two 3.5km paddle legs. True to “The Year of the Wet Teva form, as the starter’s gun sounded the skies clouded over and a brief deluge soaked the field as they headed for Nerang State Forest.
Nerang’s infamous steep climbs and treacherous descents were all put to good use as the course snaked it’s way to the forest’s outer edges. Testing obstacles such as the leg burning ‘Speed Racer’, ‘Long Legs’ (a stilt-relay) and bush-bashing hike scattered the field, leaving the top five teams well ahead of the rest of the pack.
Charging into Checkpoint 14, the symbolic half-way point of the course, Team AROC Mountain Designs held a narrow lead over Mountain Designs and Torque Landrover Area 51. A quick round of ‘Mountain Bike Polo’ saw these teams bunched even closer together as they headed back into the forest for a spot of orienteering.
