The Two Steves: Starting Prices

OK, I accept... Bridgedale Ireland will finish 11th, TNF-Kona 18th!
So, TNF are 50-minutes down on the leaders at CP1. Now this may not seem like much in a 5+ day race, but trust me, it is. Pete will not be happy at being that far down the board, partuclarly when all the other contenders are placed above them. Plus it looks like there\'s going to be less paddling than anticipated - something else which will dent the team\'s morale as and when they find out, as they are a superb paddling team.
Elsewhere, XL Lupus are down in 67th. Chris Horrod is a nice guy and an experienced campaigner and his team-mates appear to be too. All are on the mature side, so are unlikely to lose the race mentally. Having raced with Naomi in Borneo, I wish her all the best...but she\'ll need to be in far better condition than she was in 2000 or she won\'t make it round. I know she\'s been training hard so fingers XXXd for the guys.
Bridgedale will also be unhappy at being in the mid-30s, but Noel\'s a wiley competitor and I expect to see them moving up the field today.
