Population Explosion on West Coast

The field is currently spread between the trek down the coast (Leg 4) and the MTB (Leg 6), the back markers will surely be happy to get to the end of the trek, especially with strong wind warnings for north of sandy cape. But they aren’t going to be happy that the forecast is for East to North Easterly winds reaching 30knots as they will be getting into the Sevylors shortly. Those at the head of the field can expect some light drizzle, although speaking to the crew at Midcamp its currently borderline overcast and no rain yet.
Some interesting history on the area around Savage River and Corinna is that it is known for its huge mineral deposits and early sailors didn\'t realise the force interfering with their compasses was the huge deposit of magnetite at Savage River some 25 km from the coast. (That should make things interesting in the nav department)
AROC Mountain Designs are expected into Midcamp within hours. Further back in the field we hear that Entropic and First Contact plan to overnight at CP9 and tackle the paddle at first light thus giving them the opportunity to take on the epic MTB leg through Savage River in daylight hours (that’s the plan anyway). This should cause a population explosion as Corrina only has a population of 5.
