XPD Weather Conditions – Day 2

Lysanne de Graaf / 23.02.2006See All Event Posts Follow Event
The competitors in XPD 2006 would have been expecting to encounter much harsher weather so far on the course. The weather usually comes in from the west but Wednesday reported pelting rain for Launceston, yet perfectly clear and sunny weather in Tasmania’s north west corner.

Despite some very light rain as competitors were embarking on the coast hike, the wind was apparently not as bad as anticipated, although the temperature did drop quite a bit overnight.

With the milder conditions than would have been expected so far into the course, many competitors will probably have gained a rather false impression of Tasmania’s weather so far, but surely the state will not hold back its ability to hit out ferociously for ever . . .
