ACE Races 1-Day Series - Bracknell Forest
Naffigation and Creepy Crawlies
Jason Ziel Team 146 (Scott Dickson, Matthew Sims) / 31.07.2006

You always hope for the right conditions on the day and true to form the weather provided the extremes we’ve come to expect. By the start at 11 am the temperature was well up already and the initial run (not finding it the most enjoyable discipline( was tough going. Soon after we started the first of many litres of sweat began to drip. Where’s my bike I thought? I can handle the heat on that.
The initial run of 5km passed fairly quickly although I find I don’t really warm up until 15-20 minutes into the run. Tackling the hills wasn’t so much fun but sliding through the boggy sections while returning to the first transition was a refreshing, if not sketchy section underfoot, I’m glad my trainers were on tight.
If there is one word to sum up our bike section it would be “naffigation or more precisely – the technical word for our lack of navigational skills!
