Volunteers and Raid the North SunPeaks! Be There!!

Geoff Langford, President of Frontier Adventure Racing is watching his race clock count down to the Raid the North SunPeaks 36 hour adventure race scheduled Friday, August 4, 2006 at midnight.

With a stunning resort backdrop, a varied and challenging BC interior wilderness, he is promising competitors and volunteers a western race to remember.

Geoff and his expert crew have been charting the weather this week and expect it to be a hot race with seasoned and novice adventure racing teams competing head to head in fiery competition.

Geoff is also looking for volunteers to round out his complement of FAR Staff: he is looking for individuals who are interested in volunteering for the Raid the North race at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops, BC on August 4-6.

Volunteering is a great way to learn more about adventure racing, find some new teammates, visit some amazing places, and have a lot of fun. There are lots of different ways to help out as a volunteer: helping with logistics at race headquarters, transporting equipment, staffing a checkpoint on the course or providing other race support as required.

You can get more information and register on-line at www.far.on.ca in the Volunteer section. Once you’ve registered you will receive a Volunteer Update. It includes information about the host community, race logistics, a weekend activity schedule, a recommended gear list, and more. We will then be in touch by phone to confirm your time commitment and role at the race. We need a strong volunteer team for this event so if you have friends or family who would like to join you for the weekend please invite them to register too!
