The Raid the North 36 hour race in Sun Peaks, BC started Friday at midnight with a bushwhack/lakesteering section to CP1 followed by trekking to CP2 and CP3/TA1. As of 7 am Saturday all teams had cleared CP1. The faster teams, then transitioned to their bikes and biked towards Adams Lake passing through CP4 and ending the bike at CP5/TA2. Currently only Team 15 - Britannia Lodging Co dot com has started left TA2. The only other teams that have passed CP4 are 18 DARTnuun, 20 Fast Trax/Salomon, and 35 Wildrose. The majority of the teams still remain on the trek.
From TA2 teams have a short trek to the rappel (CP6) where they will rappel down to the lake and head out in the canoes for a 37 km paddle. The paddle will end at CP7/TA3 where teams will switch to their bikes and head towards Sunpeaks. At CP8 teams have to make a choice to continue with biking on the advanced course or to transition to a trek towards the finish line.
