We are now approximately 12 hours into the 36 hour Raid the North race at Sun Peaks, BC. All 23 teams still remain on course and the top teams are setting a blistering pace. As of Saturday at noon 10 teams had passed the rappel (CP6) and were somewhere on the 37 km paddle section. Staff at CP7/TA3 had spotted a team getting close to the end of the paddle which is a good 3 hours prior to anticipated race times.
All teams have completed the first trek section and now teams that are not yet at the paddle are spread-out between the bike leg and the trek to the rappel. The fast times for the top teams might mean a finish time of under 24 hours.
