But every now and again there was a cry of ‘Team Coming!� and anyone who could rushed to the finish line to clap and cheer the latest finishers. The local entry, Team Lappland finished just after lunch in 18th placed, quickly followed by Multitude Salomon. After being out on the course 2 days longer than the leaders you might expect these teams had taken more sleep, but Norwegian team said they’d only slept for 13 hours.
The final two teams didn’t make the official course close at 16.00, but no one was going to take away their chance to finish now. The Russian team OMK Nike put on a spurt on the final road cycle, averaging 28km/hour to take 20th place ... which leaves on the Brazilian team Mitsubishi Francis Hydratta QuasarLontra out on the course.
They are expected to finish some time during the race party and as most people will be outside on another gloriously sunny evening they are sure to get a tumultuous reception when they come in.
