Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge
All Stars Push to the Front
07.11.2006

The all-star celebrity 12th Team (Craig Mottram, Craig Walton, Sid Taberly, Mike McKay), shrugged off their bad luck from yesterday and moved into first place as they were joined by Oarsome Foursome rower Mike McKay as a replacement for Kelly. The team set off to a cracking pace, finishing the remote trek, a clear 29 minutes ahead of Webber’s Pure Tasmania team.
Describing the trek British rowing champ and member of Webber’s Pure Tasmania Team, James Cracknell said; “We’re in the middle of nowhere out there. If a chopper can fly over it, we’ll be walking through it. That’s how remote this part of Tasmania is.
On facing his old rowing adversary in the wilderness, McKay said; “We’re not on familiar territory here, we’re used to battling it out over a six-minute course. We’re just pleased to have broken seven hours on today’s hike with our teams intact.
