Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge
Team Shuffles on Day 4
08.11.2006

As a result, Webber’s Pure Tasmania team will not be penalised for team mate Guy Andrews missing out on Day Three due to gastro complaints, and Webber himself was able to sit out of this morning’s 15km run and rest the knee injury that caused him to hobble round the Dove Lake run stage yesterday.
Webber said; “I always knew this race was going to be tough. It’s disappointing that I’m sitting out a stage today, but my knees have been bothering me since Day One, so it’s better to take a rest now and be able to finish the race, than keep going and run myself out.
Webber’s team mate, Guy Andrews was relieved to be getting back in to the race; “I’m feeling great. The bug that I had yesterday has passed, so I’m going to get back into it today.
The start of Day Four has seen teams completing a windswept beach ride along the sands at Ocean Beach, a 15km run at Cape Sorell and a 10km kayak from Swan Basin to Strahan.
The celebrity All-Stars charged into Strahan at the head of the field to complete the Kayak and shave even more time off Webber & co’s lead. All Stars team leader, Craig Mottram, said of the kayak; “That really tested our metal. It got fairly choppy into the heads, but there were no other teams in sight so happy days.
