SOLE keeps it going all the way, to win EcoMotion Pro 2006!

Rivals MERRELL/WIGWAM (NZ/USA) have been pushing hard for the last day, slowly gaining on the leaders. Earlier in the day, they had passed ABARTH-TEVA (ESP). Up until then, SOLE and ABARTH-TEVA had been clearly out front.
MERRELL/WIGWAM managed to reach within an hour of SOLE, finishing exactly 60 minutes behind them (who knows what another 100 km of course might have brought to this experienced Kiwi/US crew?)
From information currently posted on the EcoMotion Pro site, ABARTH-TEVA look secure to arrive very soon for third place. The team currently in fourth place (at last count, still 15 hours behind the Spaniards) are the all-woman Brazilian team VIVO ATENAE. Wow, way to go you superwomen, bravo bravo! VIVO ATENAE are not only ahead of every other Brazilian team, they also have more than a one-hour lead on AR giants GOLITE TIMBERLAND (USA), and are hours ahead of other international teams BJURFORS ADVENTURE RACING (SWE, currently 8th), ARENA TEAM (RUS, currently 9th) and SPELEO SALOMON (POL, currently 10th).
Disappointing news for DART-nuun (USA). They have had to withdraw because of a foot injury sustained by Ryan Van Gorder. "He appears to be ok and will survive," says team-mate Jen Segger. "We are in good spirits and headed off to the hotel for a shower and bed."
