Biking to the Dark Zone

Due to some strategic descisions the exact leader isn\'t quite clear, we do know that Mountain Designs picked up an extra Checkpoint during the Kayak Leg which may well mean that coming out of the Dark Zone if Mountain Designs are at the TA by 6am they will be a strong position, as they will not have to serve out the optional penalties for missing CPs, the penalties will be served out at the end of Leg 4s Kayak near Bowen.
For now 2hrs seperates the front 8 teams, with Orion Health holding off Mexican Stingers Carboshotz followed closely by On Q/Just Saab/Yogaslackers, R&R Dunedin NZ and Dart-nuun.
Darkness must be a relief for the teams as it now gives them chance to concentrate more on their race plan, when earlier in the day the spectacular scenery made the whole scene seem a bit surreal.
