NOTES
Teams find out and wait out their Leg 1 standby time (dependent on how many CPs the lead teams collected) in Bowen having completed the Leg 4 kayak.
Once standby has been served, teams will race to the end with no time adjustments (unless penalties are incurred). This means that teams ahead are beating the teams behind!
Maps for the Leg 6 orienteering will be issued on arrival at the transition area.
Midcamp will be welcome relief for many teams at the end of this stage with a compulsory minimum 6 hour break required here – they may spend longer if they choose. Teams will be given the final stage of the event, a supplementary hot meal, base camp style tent and a bucket of hot water to wash up.
