Nike just maintains lead over Adventure Sport NZ to take first overall...

As for all the other days Team Nike came first into the finish after a long day of running, paddling, rafting, mountain biking and caving. But they were followed very closely by Adventure Sports NZ - most of the day there were only about 2 minutes between those teams (a blown up tyre made for a late start out of one transition area for Nike).
The race was on for place number 3. The NZ Cavaliers (Sports Skins NZ), LaFuma and Sole were the hot contenders, and it was truly a head to head race with changing positions. Everyone had their issues and everyone was struggling with the heat. In the end it was the Cavaliers that crossed the finish line first of these three teams, followed by the French LaFuma and Sole. It took a few more minutes until the third NZ team completed the race: Velvet.org.nz.
The fantastic race finished with a glamorous closing ceremony in the "Lotus Amusement Hall". Some of the athletes are leaving for Chongqing at 1 am this very night! It was a great race and most certainly athletes are keen to come back next year.
