Iles Guadeloupe Adventure
Experience the soul of Guadeloupe
10.10.2007

IGWA/Isles of Guadeloupe Adventure is an event of both adventure and discovery of the Guadeloupe territories. The route will, over the course of a week, take 30 teams of two competitors each through the experiences of running, swimming, paddling and cycling ... all the while discovering and exploring the isles.
The course will alternate between traditional adventure racing activities in the midst of the wilderness of the Guadeloupe islands, and challenges with the villages and hamlets to experience the culture and history of the isles’ inhabitants. Racers will discover more than the touristy clichés, they will experience the soul of Guadeloupe.
Guadeloupe is composed of five distinct islands: Basse Terre, Marie-Galante, Grande Terre, Les Saintes and La Desirade. In each edition of this race, competitors will get to know at least three of Guadeloupe’s isles. In this first edition, the islands of Grande Terre, Marie-Galante, and Basse Terre (with its active volcano peaking at 1467 m) will receive the honour. From the white sand beaches to the volcanic peaks, across turbulent rushing rivers and rainforest, the range of views, flavours and colours that the competitors will experience will be stunning.
