Oman Adventure Race
France's team AIGLES SYBELLES ESF takes first place
16.12.2007

After a short break, the athletes departed again, this time for a very fast 11 km route over wet sand at the edge of the sea. First place in this final rish went to Bruno Girard and Didier Iket (72 ENS CACHAN BRETAGNE La POSTE) with an incredible bike/run time of 33:17.
The final ranking confirms the dominance of Thierry Galindo and Ludovic Pommeret (74 AIGLES SYBELLES ESF), with a total time of 22:55:39. These two young alpinists have just flown through the course, from point to point, committing few errors and leaving little opportunity for their pursuers ENS CACHAN BRETAGNE La POSTE to catch them. These challengers ended up in second place, two hours behind the leaders. Team 71 RAID IN/SGTE INEO/SUEZ took third place, five hours behind the winners. Following the top three, came four teams very close together; then far behind them came the final two teams that completed the “extreme route.
In the “raider classification, the youngsters François Verrecchia and Vincent Poinsotte (76 AGENCE TOURISTE) came in first place, ahead of team 75 LATTITUDE 55 EGT CLIMTECH. We would also like to note the good results of the three teams from Oman, all who were classified in the “extreme category, and especially of team 68 A’RUSTAQ (Yoosf Al Ma’amri and Khalifa Al Abri) who fought hard for fourth place throughout Oman Adventure 2007.
