The Challenge to Get to the Starting Line

Theuns Botha, the Logistical Manager for the BOA organisation, who collected these teams at the airport yesterday, reported that a Norwegian and a Canadian racer experienced some frustration.
Anette Bjerve from Norway, racing for the South African team Kubusi, never received her Bike box at Cape Town airport. She just hopes that her bike will be located and arrive on time for the start early Saturday morning.
Despite this setback, she seemed to be very upbeat about visiting South Africa again. A few years ago, she got entrapped in a rapid while doing white water rafting on the Fish River. She lost consciousness under the water, but one of the guides, James Williamson, managed to resuscitate her on the river bank and saved her life! Today James is one of her best friends and the Captain (and ultimate Commander) of Team Kubusi. Losing her bike so close to the start of this event is just another challenge that she will tackle head on.
Team Comor/John Henry Bikes face their own problems. Adrian Rothwell\'s equipment box also did not arrive at Cape Town International. He has his bike, backpack and trail shoes, but the rest of his equipment, which includes his bike seat post, is in his racing bin. In anticipation of his box not arriving on time, the team is driving around, visiting the local outdoor stores to source some of the compulsory equipment that he would need.
