This past weekend Coast to Coast Adventures organized the 9th edition of the Pacuare Adventure Race. The race was the 40th adventure race that CtoC has put on in the past 10 years. The spectacular Pacuare River Valley played host to this 3 day stage race. All teams camped 2 nights at El Nido del Tigre Camp on the banks of the Pacuare River.
Day 1 saw Pro teams tackle a 20 km bike section through sugar cane and coffee fields of the Turrialba Valley, follow by a sea kayaking section looking for Way Point Boxes on Lake Angostura, followed by a second MTB section and finally an extremely tough trek through the jungle bordering the Pacuare River. Team Rios Tropicales was first to arrive at camp at 7:27 pm follow by Team Caribe at 8:21 pm and in 3rd place Team Costa Rica who are headed to the world championship this October in Brazil. Team Economy Rent a Car, one of the race favorites took a wrong turn and spent a couple of hours getting back on track before crossing the finish line at 11:06 pm.
