Day 3: Many challenges make this the toughest day so far...

Teams had to make two portages along the way, but a few teams, notably AZIMUT and PEDINI IRET, chose to paddle a longer distance around, in order to avoid one portage and save time. In the end, those who did the two portages did better in their timing.
Racers made a lot of discoveries along the way. One team found a dead whale on the shore. The competitors explored a good part of the coast near Middle bay on foot and on their bike.
Competition at the front of the pack was tough, as it has been every day. As for the previous two days, the team XTREME SOUTH AFRICA led for the first part of the competition, but was threatened by the advance of the two chasing French teams. The course was very tough today. The heat was the biggest challenge that the racers had to face on the Coasteering section near Middle Bay. The trekking section was the toughest of all - teams hed to replenish their water reserves in order to continue. No one had thought that heat would be an issue here on Québec’s Lower North Shore!
We can feel that the teams start to be tired on this 3rd day of racing. The teams must use different strategies to stay in top shape. Some of the teams like Yogaslackers decided not to do the extreme section of saturday\'s course to rest and get ready for night stage that started at 10h00 pm.
The race is as close as it can get! The top 3 for saturday\'s section is Arvern Outdoor, followed by Sport 2000 Lafuma, and then Xtreme South Africa. The last team arrived around 7h30 p.m.
After St-Paul on Friday, now it\'s the residents of Middle Bay people who have surprised the organisation and racers with a seafood banquet. The racers are very happy as they didn\'t have to cook before the night stage.
The night stage started at 10pm, and the final stage of the competition starts tomorrow at 7:30am.
