Coast Raid/Éco EnduranceAventure 2008
Day 4: The French Team Averne Outdoor are champions of 2008 CoastRaid
25.08.2008

For the last section of the race, two control points were placed on Mont Parent Summit and on a path close near the ocean. This section at the end of four days of racing was a big navigation challenge for all the teams and a chance to really feel and see how the dense fog can make a huge difference in the race but also in the life of the locals and Fisherman’s of the Lower North Shore. To make sure that they could make it to the finish line before many teams that were chasing them. The four lead teams agreed to race together until the finish line. It was a really smart move on that last section because many teams took a lot more time to complete the last section than expected. Team Salomao of Brazil event lost each other in the dense fog and were able to rejoin only after 1h30 of wondering around on the top of Mont Parent.
After four days and one intense night stage of really wild adventure racing, all the teams made it to the finish line with huge smiles. The local heroes team Harrington made it to the finish at 16h54 with a big crowd of locals fans, even all the mayors of the different villages came to tell them how proud the community were to see them complete this huge challenge.
